The progression system was designed so that every player has the chance to evolve and achieve greatness without resorting to outside purchases.

How Does the Game Stay Online?

The game offers a few options such as the premium support scroll, skill scroll, experience scroll, RedSkull scroll, and gender change scroll, which are optional and exist to help keep the server online and constantly evolving. These options are meant for those who want to customize their experience even further, but they are not essential for progressing in the game.

By choosing any scroll, you help ensure the game keeps thriving — but always remember that your character's strength comes from your effort, not your wallet.

Why Don't We Pay for Advertising?

I received a screenshot with a fairly common comment — nothing wrong with it in itself — but it made me reflect on how many players think. I have two theories about that mindset: one slightly positive and one not so much. In the end, it's my opinion — just like the opinion of the person who said it, which may make sense to them but doesn't make sense to me, and I think they didn't quite understand the game's concept.

Let me explain it in a simple way. I'll start by telling a bit of my history with Linux. I've been using Linux since 2000 — actually since 1999, but I say 2000 to keep it simple. I started with Kurumin, a Brazilian distro, and I liked it from the beginning, even though it was completely different from Windows. What caught my attention was the philosophy behind it: a community where everyone contributes, like an old car that keeps getting improved by everyone, generating new versions like Debian, Ubuntu, and so many others. All free, open, made by people who develop out of passion and release their software for free — image editors, audio tools, even things like Firefox and Thunderbird, which later moved to other systems. That spirit of collaboration — of being able to use, modify, and share without any obligation to pay — left a deep mark on me.

And that's exactly the idea behind Thirus. The server is a pure project, a hobby I take seriously — just like when I work with wood, I do it with care and dedication, but it's still a hobby. I don't make a living from the game. If I did, everything would change: I'd be worried about getting more players, monetizing, avoiding quick frustrations. But that's not the case. Thirus is like those Linux programs: made for free, available for free, and if you want to contribute voluntarily, you can. Every contribution turns into more months of the server staying online.

That's why I don't accept paid advertising. Several streamers have reached out to me, and I turned them down. Everyone here came through word of mouth. I believe it's more genuine that way: when someone recommends it, it's because they truly enjoyed it. The game isn't a product, and you aren't customers. It's a space to play hardcore, difficult, with no purchased advantages, where the journey is about the fun of leveling up your character, exploring places alone or with a small group.

I understand that some people complain about the lack of advertising. My theory is that, perhaps, some people are looking to make money through the game — selling gold, items, services — and for them, more players means a bigger market. I don't blame them, but that's not Thirus's vision. Here, the idea is the player who comes home from work and plays a little for fun, for the satisfaction of watching their character grow stronger, of achieving something little by little.

Thirus will have ups and downs. Groups will come in, groups will leave. There will be player spikes and drops. It's natural. And that's fine. I'm not chasing numbers — I'm chasing an environment with the essence I envisioned: a difficult, fair game, sustained by a community that grows organically.

You're welcome if this proposal makes sense to you. And if it doesn't, that's fine too. The important thing is to make it clear: Thirus is not a cash grab, it's not a company, and it won't change its essence to become one. It's a passion project, made for those who play for the sake of playing — just as Linux is a system made for those who believe in sharing and freedom. Good luck to everyone!
